VÙLTURE OLIVE GROWERS
The Consortium for the Protected Designation of Origin for Vùlture Extra-Virgin Olive Oil brings together most of the olive growers, mills and packaging facilities operating in the nine municipalities of the “Vùlture” PDO geographical area (Atella, Barile, Ginestra, Maschito, Melfi, Rapolla, Rionero in Vulture, Ripacandida and Venosa), which have created a single association with the purpose of protecting and promoting their olive oil.
“Producers have now become aware of their own strength, they have found the courage to appear with their own faces, their own hands, without the fear of representing a peripheral world, far from the city, confined to the countryside.
Vùlture Dop and its commercial labels Olio Vù and Sette Vette have certainly revealed how the region of Basilicata, which was until recently considered a poorly developed region, has managed to prove itself and do itself proud. This is no longer the case now; just look at what Vùlture oil mills did. They have teamed up - an unusual factor if you know Italy, which has always been deeply divided and separated – and found an effective and powerful promotional tool in the Consortium.”
